Toledo, OH- Saint Ursula Academy has started offering weekly Eucharistic Adoration, starting at 7 a.m. every Wednesday morning in the St. Angela Chapel.
According to Liz Pelz, Campus Ministry Director, Eucharistic Adoration is viewed as a valuable opportunity to deepen students’ spiritual life through the presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
Although adoration may be intimidating at first, it can be a way for students to begin their day peacefully with God.
“Those 45-minutes of adoration once a week is just a great time to step away from all of the craziness and press pause with that,” said Mrs. Pelz. “It’s just you and Jesus, handing your heart to him and letting him be.”
Adoration has been reintroduced to St. Ursula to bring spiritual growth to the school community as a whole by offering the opportunity to connect with God directly.
The act of restoring adoration at Saint Ursula began with Pelz’s yearly summer visits to Camp De Sales, a frequently visited retreat center in Vineyard Lake, MI.
The Catholic youth camp inspired Mrs. Pelz, along with multiple Saint Ursula students, to bring back this opportunity to connect with God.
All students are invited to attend, even if they may be unsure what to do during their time there.
“I love listening to music and journaling during adoration. I also just love to close my eyes, clear my mind, and listen,” said Ms. Clarke, a Theology teacher at Saint Ursula Academy.

Students should feel free to open themselves up to God’s presence during this time in order to focus on their personal relationship with God.
“I find adoration so peaceful and relaxing. It's a place that I can really hear and see Jesus working,” Gabrielle Clarke said.
Ms. Clarke, along with many of the other people who attend adoration, finds peace and guidance from Jesus during that time.
In times of stress or worry, students can use adoration to decompress and focus on Jesus’ presence to guide them through their day.
