TOLEDO, OH – Saint Ursula Academy hosted local eighth-grade students for Visitation on September 25 and September 26 where they learned about the school and attended a pep rally.

Visitation consists of two days where eighth graders mostly from Catholic schools visit Catholic high schools in the area.

All students visit Central Catholic and Cardinal Stritch. In addition, girls visit Saint Ursula Academy and Notre Dame Academy, while the boys visit Saint John’s Jesuit and Saint Francis De Sales High School.

Visitation is a two day period that many students at Saint Ursula Academy look forward to greatly, as it is a two-day period full of energy, exciting pep rallies, which even resulted in a Friday off from school.

A lot of thought and preparation goes into hosting a well-rounded visitation, which takes a lot of time and dedication from administration, Student Council and the emcees.

“As emcees, we had several meetings with Mrs.Hayes and Miss. Rosa and also just with each other, working on, like, writing our scripts, figuring out like our outfits, planning that stuff accordingly,” said Reaghan Meyer, one of the emcees from the 2025 visitations.

There were four emcees this year, including seniors Izzy Nitschke, Molly Malone, Reaghan Meyer and Aubrey Massey.

These emcees were selected by Mrs. Hayes as students whom she trusts to bring the energy to the school.

“When she asked me I was very excited and I was glad because of the fact that I love standing up in front of everyone and engaging with students,” said Meyer.

Visiting students get a tour of Saint Ursula Academy, attend an academic panel, and, most famously, attend a pep rally.

The pep rally showcases Saint Ursula Academy’s school spirit through highlighting all sports teams, a teacher dance performance based on SUA’s school musical, a performance from the dance team, and then the students participate in a cheer as well as the singing of the Alma Mater.

After the pep rally, students receive a tour of the school given by the SUA Ambassador Society and get to participate in activities in various classrooms.

The students of SUA then line the hallways and cheer as the eighth graders complete their day.

Visitations are a long-standing tradition at SUA that many students enjoy. After another successful year, the tradition continues to live up to its standard.
